Awards in Award Explorer include scholarships, grants, fellowships, prizes and medals. These may have monetary or non-monetary value. Eligibility for awards could include criteria such as financial need, academic merit, Indigenous background, first generation students, research streams, demonstrated leadership, etc.

Make sure that your search results aren’t too narrow. Try removing some filters or keywords and searching again. To clear the search results, hit the refresh button on your browser.

In both fields make sure that your spelling is correct. Avoid acronyms such as UTSC. Shorter text strings and single words are recommended. E.g. ‘Arts’ for ‘Faculty of Arts and Science’.

U of T applicants should search for Admission awards. Current students are eligible for In-course awards. Graduating awards are open to current U of T students in their graduating year or recent graduates, subject to award terms.

Please contact the faculty, college, campus or department that the award is offered by to obtain information on how to apply. In some cases, eligible students will receive a notification email from the unit inviting them to apply or to complete an awards profile.

Please contact the faculty, college, campus or department offering the award directly.

Some awards do not require an application as we have enough information in our student information system to determine eligibility. In these cases, students will be automatically considered by their faculty, college or department. Selected students will be notified.

Award Explorer is a supplementary tool that consolidates all student awards at U of T into one place to make them easier to find. Many awards in the tool are also advertised by faculty, college, department or program websites. The award information listed should be the same in both places.
